Individual
Psychodynamic Therapy

Therapy to help you uncover the root causes of your struggles, develop new coping strategies and navigate life's challenges with more confidence.

Live a happier, more fulfilling life

Life can be challenging

Whether you’re struggling to find deeper connection, genuine happiness, or attempting to truly understand yourself – we are here to offer guidance, support, and a compassionate space where you can rediscover your strength and potential.

Therapy can help you create meaningful change

What is psychodynamic therapy and how can it help me?

Psychodynamic therapy is rooted in the theory that unconscious memories, feelings, and conflicts from one’s past can influence current behaviour and thoughts. Through psychodynamic therapy, we help you explore the deeper feelings and thoughts that might be influencing your actions today by looking deeper into your personal history, your childhood experiences and your current situations to better understand the “why” behind your feelings and actions.

Therapy can help you:

Instead of just addressing what’s on the surface, we’ll dive deeper to uncover the root of your feelings.
By understanding these deep feelings, you can explore new choices and possibilities, leading to meaningful and long-lasting growth.
We’ll help you see and break any repeating cycles in your life that might be holding you back.
Your relationship with your therapist is key. We’re here to support and understand you, using our bond as a tool for insight.
This therapy will help you gain a clearer understanding of yourself and healing from past wounds, making choices and relationships more fulfilling.

Therapy is more than just talking about specific problems; it also provides an opportunity for self-reflection, personal growth, and developing coping mechanisms. Whether you're navigating major life changes or seeking clarity and understanding about ongoing internal struggles, therapy can provide the guidance and tools to foster resilience, healing, and overall well-being.

What can therapy help with?

Therapy can be helpful in not only treating each of these conditions but in identifying how they may be connected to each other, as well as your past experiences.

Therapy frees up your energy so you can start living your possibilities

Are you struggling with physical symptoms including: Insomnia, heart palpitations, loss of appetite or overeating & weight gain?
Are you struggling with feelings of anxiousness, sadness, overwhelm, or struggle with confusion around your relationships, career choices or things not ‘going right’ in your life?
Do you question why it’s so hard to find love, feel understood, move on from the past or just feel happier in your life?

In therapy, we help you make sense of things that have happened, see the patterns in your life that may be causing trouble, and begin to reshape your responses in a way that reflects your goals. Throughout this process we help you see new choices and possibilities, and figure out ways to make those aspirations your reality.

What you can expect from this approach

Meeting with a therapist can provide relief, understanding, and long-lasting change. People often feel better just taking the first step, and after a few weeks, they may begin to understand their problem better. The most significant change occurs over months when insights are gained, leading to different choices in life.
Because everyone’s journey is different, we can’t guarantee a specific timeline or result. What we can tell you is that time and consistency are keys to progress, and if you keep showing up, positive change will follow. You may notice improvements such as:

Questions About Individual Psychodynamic Therapy

Frequently Asked Questions

It takes as much time as may be necessary for you to understand what’s going on in your mind and how you can change things in your life. Everyone’s journey in therapy is unique, and shaped by individual needs, experiences, and goals. Some people might find clarity or relief in a few sessions, while others might benefit from a longer engagement. Because every step that brings about self-awareness, healing, or transformation is invaluable.
Most of the time, we do. Not because doing so is obligatory or because you should dwell on past pains, but because your history provides important context, experiences, lessons, and patterns of the past that provides valuable insights into your current difficulties and emotions. It’s not about rehashing old events or assigning blame; rather, it’s about uncovering the wisdom that is sometimes hidden beneath past events. Recognizing and understanding these lessons can be a guiding light, empowering you to make informed decisions for your future.
You will always be in control of what you choose to share and when. Our primary goal is to ensure you feel safe, respected and heard. Traumatic experiences can be delicate and challenging to discuss, but sometimes addressing them can be a part of the healing process. Our job is to provide a supportive and compassionate environment, so when or if you decide to delve into those experiences, you’ll feel safe. This process can help you get a better understanding and allow your inner healer to do the work.
Absolutely. The human spirit and mind are incredibly resilient. With commitment and effort, people can undergo profound changes in their perspectives, feelings, and behaviours. Sometimes, these changes are evident in big life shifts, but often, they manifest in subtle ways — in the decisions you make, how you react to challenges, or how you perceive the world around you. Even when you feel you haven’t made significant progress, you might be surprised to notice the many ways in which you’ve grown or how your approach to life has evolved.

Even though individual therapy is focused on the person, it can teach you a lot about how relationships work. You can get a better sense of how you interact with other people by looking into your thoughts, habits, and feelings. This kind of self-awareness can help you deal with and improve problems in your relationships. Taking care of our relationship with ourselves sets the tone for how we treat other people. As you grow, heal, and evolve, the quality and depth of your relationships can flourish alongside your personal journey.
